AntiqueBrass Sewing Bird Clamp / Pin Cushion A. Gerould & Co. Patent * Circa 1850s This lovely sewing bird clamp is made of brass and has nice feathered detail. Under the tail it is marked "A. Gerould & Co. Patent. This patent was taken out in 1853 by Allen Gerould & John H. Ward of Middletown, Conn. The spring is strong and intact and it works perfectly. It has a heart shaped thumbscrew and measures about 4 3/4" tall with the screw half way in (as shown). The front has an oval velvet pincushion that looks to be original. It's in excellent working condition. The screw holds well all along the length and it has a nice, original patina. I stand behind everything that I offer and guarantee that it is exactly as presented. ** Full Insurance is included in the low shipping price for all of my auctions. ** ** Illustrated newsletters available on Antique Sewing Tools ** If you would like to be on my mailing list and receive the newsletters, email me at cmmeacham on AOL or visit my Elegantarts website to download them.
