~ Circa 1880, Eastlake Solid Walnut Sideboard ~

This wonderful piece recently came out of a large estate from Lakewood, Ohio. The drawers have the loop and pin dovetail ( often called cove and pin) construction, that is characteristic to the Eastlake era of furniture. Each drawer has the original engraved brass pulls. The front also has a double door cabinet with the most beautiful burled walnut! Drawers have the burled walnut fronts, too! Top drawer and cabinet/cupboard doors have spoon-carving. I believe the wood knobs on the two front doors are not original to the sideboard...although, they match nicely with the piece....and, look to have been replaced many moons ago. Top drawer above the the cabinet/cupboard has a brass covered keyhole.

The sideboard measures 34-1/4 inches high ( not including marble top) by 47 inches wide and 19-3/4 inches deep. The beautiful marble top measures 47-6/8 inches by 20-1/4 inches. Marble is in great condition with one corner having an under-side chip...please enlarge all photos for viewing. Marble is beveled on three sides.

Backside of sideboard has steel straight brackets that have been applied. I believe these were put on when the family moved the piece from their Bridge Ave. home in Cleveland to their Lakewood home in the early 20's.
