Offering an ANTIQUE (1910-1920) Nickel Plate & BRASS ENCASED SWISS CAR CLOCK . The clock looks like a large 2.5" diameter pocket watch, and is the type that was mounted inside of the early Model-A Model-T type cars. The clock measures .5" thick, and is a substantial 5 oz. The clock will weigh in at just over a pound when padded and boxed for safe shipping. The back of the clock is hinged. On the inside of the back is engraved "Fabrique De Montilier Switzerland." T are no other numerical or mfg. markings except for "15 jewels" engrave-marked on the works. EXCELLENT condition! Very little superficial scratching and no corrosion to the metal. Nickel plating to the back has a soft time-worn matte finish, but the inside of the clock is as bright as a mirror. Crystal is intact without chips or cracks and is nice and clear. Back hinge is fine; back fits well and closes with a loud "snap" when pressed firmly. Clock has been keeping good time for me for the 4 days I've had it. Has an internal speed adjuster for tweeking the accuracy. Really fine old piece! Be sure to check out my other auctions this week for an American made "WALTHAM" car clock from the same era (pat. 1912) in good working order. Thank you.
