This is the third of three large antique milliners or shop display models that I am currently listing,I have put a picture of all three models up as a second photo for comparison purposes ,but this auction is only for the model shown in the rest of the photosI was told by the vendor that they were purchased in a Harrods of London Antique Auction some time in the late 1940's or early 1950's,and that a large price was paid for them,I have tried to track down their listings but so far to no avail.Harrods of Knightsbridge used to run auctions in Sloane Avenue. THE GREEN TINGE IN SOME OF THE PHOTOS IS FROM THE CAMERA With carved wooden head neck shoulders and hands, Its made of either boxwood or lime I think, with very fine carving and no damage to the carving that I can see, apart from some light marks.have a look at the photos and judge for yourself. It stands 18" inches (450mm) high approx on the base, which has a makers mark of a large C enclosing a small W, so it seems to be CW or WC, Im not sure who this is,I would be interested if someone could tell me.The base is loose and comes off on this one.On the carved wooden head ,there are two visible glue lines that runs vertically down the r/h side of the face just at the edge of the eye and a bit further towards the ear though these are there from when it was made and would not be as noticeable
