Rare Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Sarah W Symonds Pingree House Doorway Salem Mass

Rare Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Sarah W Symonds Pingree House Doorway Salem Mass. Measures 4 1/8" tall and 3 7/8" wide. No cracks or damage to the iron. No repaint, all paint is original. Paint shows age craquelure and surface wear with loads of character. I love the fine detail to the glass windows. The back lower right looks to be marked with the number 150 but hard to read. This is absolutely genuine Symonds of Salem Mass. Extremely rare and might be the only one ever listed on eBay since eBay started! The same doorstop can be found on page 238 of The Doorstop Encyclopedia by Smith as shown in our last photo. You will notice that the book shows the set of bookends - please look at my doorstop and you will see a slight variation in the side windows with this genuine doorstop version being slightly larger but otherwise identical. Guaranteed genuine authentic older vintage item with original paint.
