Offered is a strand of antique late 19 th or early 20 th century Chinese “Moss In Snow” jadeite beads. Streaks of vivid apple green mottle the white and pale green jadeite. At some point in the 1920’s or 30’s these were strung as a double graduated strand on an Art Deco rhodium plated rhinestone clasp. The first 14 beads on both ends of each strand are knotted but the larger beads are not. The largest beads are 9.5-10 mm, the smallest about 4 mm. They should be restrung, and would form a striking single strand of over 30” in length. The beads are in excellent condition with the expected surface wear for their age but no damage. The Art Deco clasp is missing the center marquise stone. As strung the shorter strand measures 15 1/2” wearable length including the clasp.
