This unique antiquecrazy quilt was found in the bottom of a trunk. It seems to be from sometime around 1900 or earlier. It is incredibly detailed and appears completelyhand stitched—it looks like the panels were ironed/folded over and are attached using the thick stitching that is visible. It contains a wide variety of fabrics; some of the panels are fraying and/or brittle. It has a few squares and rectangles of simple cloth backing that reveals the stitching of the original patches. The border is made of velvet and is coming loose in one section. Two panels reveal logos for Freemasonry. One says “Master Mason” and the other says “Golden Fleece.” These are rare and early artifacts of an exclusive and historic fraternal organization. I have not laundered this quilt topper. It measures 47 x 73.” It is in pretty good condition and clean considering its age. I will wrap it in bubble wrap and ship it in a box.
