Superb (and pretty shocking) antique English Victorian jardiniere or planter box comprised of 4 Minton Tiles inset into a very fine bronze mounting. An old estate piece from a very good Dallas estate and unconditionally guaranteed old; I would date it to the late 1800s, ca. 1870 - 1890 (the collectors will know for certain). All four of the Minton tiles are by John Moyr Smith, a very talented Minton artist of the late 19th century, and are signed by him within the design of the tiles. Tiles further bear impressed marks on the back "Minton's China Works" and "Stoke on Trent" and the Minton cypher. Unconditionally guaranteed authentic and original and the pics really leave no doubt. Your money (less shipping) cheerfully refunded with *no questions asked* if you buy it and don't agree after you see it in person, but you aren't going to want to give it back. Not for the fainthearted; all four tiles graphically depict some of the worst scenes of betrayal and adultery from the Morte d'Artur, the Camelot Legends. Tile #1: Grief stricken Arthur banishes Guinevere from their bedroom for her adultery with Launcelot. Tile #2: Wicked Ettare espies the innocent champion Sir Pelleas, whom she will use in the worst ways. Tile #3: Elaine seduces Sir Launcelot in his madness which union will produce Sir Galahad. Tile #4: Sir Pelleas leaves his sword
