Antique English Cased Sterling Sewing Set * Hallmrk1894

AntiqueLeather Cased Sterling Sewing Set

English * Hallmarked 1894

This perfect little set is in a case is made of wood and covered with leather. It is lined with the original satin and velvet. The fitted interior contains a sterling silver needle case, scissors, bodkin and thimble . All of the pieces have English sterling hallmarks for 1894. The thimble was made by Charles Horner and the other pieces by Levi & Salaman. Most English silversmiths didn't have the machinery to make thimbles and bought them from someone like Horner for their sewing boxes. It's about an American size 7 and is in excellent condition with no holes, repairs or other damage.

The ornate little scissors have intact points and cut pretty well. The silver is in excellent condition with no dents or repairs and they measure 3 1/2" long. The needle case and bodkin are in perfect condition. The case is also in great condition and is 5 1/4" x 2 3/4. It closes well with a push button clasp.

I stand behind everything that I offer and guarantee that it is exactly as presented.
