ANTIQUE FRENCH COMFORTER/DUVET COVER-Kelsch From Alsace-Unused

In Alsace region, the famous « kelsch » tableclothes, curtains, napkins,... that decorate homes have been made for centuries.

It's a red and off white or blue and off white or blue, red and off white checked fabric.

Sometimes, most rarely, we can find yellow kelsch.

In Alsace region, we name "kelsch" this beautiful ckecked fabric, but we also name "a Kelsch" the pillow case or duvet cover which uses this fabric.

ANTIQUE FRENCH KELSCH

Dark red and off-white for this beautiful large Kelsch.

Woven linen Kelsch for the front side and woven linen for the white back side.

The two sides have a central seam.

A red monogram is on the top of the back side.

This kelsch is both hand-stitched/machine stitched.

6 white ribbons close the textile.

This kelsch is unused, in as found condition. It has only some pale marks of storage.

Otherwise in perfect condition.
