ANTIQUE C.G. KING BRASS SURVEY TRANSIT WITH ORIGINAL BOX..RARE

This transit is from C.G. King. Charles Gedney King was in business in Boston from 1839 until he died in 1859, so this transit would date from some time in the mid 1800s. It appears to be in very good condition, with no cracked glass, dents or scratches. The patina is aged and it could use a good cleaning. The box is solid, but is worn with scuffed, consistent with ages, and the leather straps have deteriorated. The original label for C.G. King is still attached to the inside of the lid. This belonged to my father, who acquired it many years ago when he was an architect in Boston.
Box dimensions are 12" high X 11" wide X 9" deep.
Will be shipped insured.
