ANTIQUE GERMAN BISQUE NODDER BOBBLE HEAD FIGURINE

we have a fantastic early bisque piece circa late 1800's-early 1900's. With a wonderful face, detailed molded hair and modelled in the geisha girl style holding a 3-stringed instrument known as the "Shamisen". The figure has a mold number# 5343 incised on her bow located on the back of the figure. Measuring approx. 5-1/4" high with a base width of 3-1/4".

On a level surface, her head rocks back & forth due to a bisque weight situated under the figure which is attached to her neck. It is supported with a metal pin that is inserted through the neck and rests on (2) grooves located on the shoulders. As shown, t is some loss to the gilt (gold) in areas which can be touched up if one prefers. Overall, it is in great condition having no cracks, chips, or repairs.
