ANTIQUE GERMAN-MADE HAND CARVED WOODEN WIG-MAKER'S HEAD MOLD

ANTIQUE GERMAN-MADE HAND CARVED WOODEN WIG-MAKER'S HEAD MOLD
Hand Carved in Germany sometime before 1927, these vintage wig-maker's head molds were brought to the United States as a part of a wig making business that dated back to about 1900. Unfortunately the last proprietor of this business passed away ending a business that was in continuous operation for over 116 years. These blocks have been used over the course of the business' operation. Most of them still have paper tape overlays with wig making templates still drawn on them. They have holes bored in the bottom of the bases that would allow for them to be placed on block holders, stands or even some mannequins. Possible uses include: Hat/wig stands, art installations, or wig making.
A very unique and vintage piece of art and costuming history!
