Stunning. This set is about the most beautiful of its kind I've encountered. Hand-hammered, extremely heavy and thick copper. The larger of the pair weighs five pounds! Neither bears a maker's mark, but both bear initials. As I understand it, chefs commonly stamped their initials on their cookware to tell whose was whose, and/or re-tinning companies stamped a customer's initials to avoid disputes. My guess is that one or the other accounts for the initials. The larger pot has the number 24 stamped opposite the initials; the smaller has the number 20. I suppose they indicate capacity. I haven't tried filling them to measure.Dimensions for the larger pot are as follows: 9 1/2" dia. x 4 3/4 height. 5 pounds. Distance from end of handle to front rim: 19". It's a very healthy size, and it's mighty hefty.Dimensions for the smaller: 7 3/4 x 4 1/4 height. This one weighs 3 pounds, very hefty as well. It's much larger than a sauce pot, but I don't know what you'd call this size. If any lookers fill me in on the terminology, I'll amend this ad.Condition of the copper is just lovely. The smaller does not appear to need re-tinning, though I'm far from an expert. I've taken pictures of the inside of each. The larger has some copper showing through the tin. I understand that rather than posing a danger, copper is healthful if some is exposed.
