Antique hand painted oil lamp base converted to electric floral design

For auction is an antique oil lamp base that has beenconverted to an electric lamp. There is a small bulb inside the font that also lights up. It has been hand painted in a rich floral design; the background is green with and deep yellow with deep pink and yellow flowers outlined in black with black scrolling stems and leaves. It stands approximately 17 1/2 inches tall to the top of the prongs; the porcelain font is 10 inches high and 7 inches in diameter at the shoulder, the metal base is 8 1/2 inches across at the widest point. The brass finished burner has a screw off cap that was used to fill the lamp with fuel and there is a wheel mechanism on the side to regulate the flow of fuel; the side of the wheel reads “Made in U.S. of America.” The brass finish has a few rubs from age and usage but has nice patina, color and shine. The metal base has four scrolled feet with gold and brass highlights; much of the gold highlighting is gone on most of the base and one foot has a hairline fracture above the scroll. The bottom of the base has a number 341 impressed in the metal but no maker’s name. The porcelain font is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs; there are a couple of tiny rubs in the paint that are not significant and do not detract from the beauty of the lamp.
