A delightful old plate, thickly enamelled with a border of hand painted poppies, thistles and leaves, edged to both sides in gilt, and thistles sprinkled to the body.

T are no markings to the underside; not surprising, since they were not required prior to 1847. As part of a collector's estate. This plate would have been exported from England at a time when such marks were required. Consequently, a label of certification, attesting to the plate having been made prior to 1847, has been affixed to the plate's surface. Please see photo.

Diameter 9 ½". In very good antique condition. Wear and losses to three thistles of the body. Roughness and two old chips to the foot rim.

An excellent addition to a collection of old ceramics.
