Gorgeous raised designs all around this antique dragon (sugar? )bowl, Was informed by very helpful ebayer, that this sugar bowl was Japanese Kutani Moriage Scenic, The Daimyo's or Immortals 1915-30 era. The bowl itself has a wavey shape to it all around the bowl, the entire piece has raised painted (handpainted) designs, on the eyebrows and beards, the dots in the black and all the dots in the reddish/brownish black, the scales of the dragon and the gold trims. The rim seems to be more of a clay rather than porcelain. The lid fits but dragon end doesn't match up exactly on the side w the dragon parts meet, lids dragon part is smaller than on the bowl, but the lid matches exactly the bowl colors and design and fits into the sugar bowl perfectly. T is a tiny chip on the back of the dragon's head point on the lid top, otherwise no cracks or chips anyw, has some crazing in bowl and on handle of piece also, but in excellant condition for its age. Photos just don't really show the beauty of this piece. This is a large bowl, measures 5 1/2" high to top of lid, 6" across top to end of dragon handles, 4 1/4" across widest area of bowl. Bottom is 2 1/4" diameter. See Photos, will combine items to save some postage. Request payment within 5 days. Will adjust postage to your state.
