You are bidding on a high quality richly gold gilt adorned M. C. Lilley & Co. 1890s Knights Templar Masonic Sword! This sword has intricate detailing! Handles are Ivory with scrimshaw detailing ! This Knights Templar member was very high ranking or a "Master Mason" as from the gold gilting of the blade & traces of gold plating can be observed on the scabbard. Sword & Scabbard are matching reading W.R. Davis. I have included a SCARCE 1890s Original Cabinet Photo of a man in full Knights Templar dress with the exact same type of sword. The sword & cabinet photo would be amazing framed together. These Rare swords typically bring $760-785 however how many will you ever see with an Original 1890s Cabinet Photo of a Knights Templar member holding the sword. Sword measures with scabbard approx. 38 1/4 inches. Sword is 37 1/4 inches. Scabbard measures approx 31 inches. Overall sword is immaculate gold gilting of the blade appears to be all intact!!! Scabbard is in great condition other than most of the gold plating has came off over the years. Traces can still be seen. Cabinet photo has Knights Templar member in full dress and has Cornell & Saunders 16 State St. Rochester, NY on the bottom. Many crosses adorn this Templar members uniform & the same type of sword can be seen at his side.
