** Antique Locke & Co. Porcelain Vases Circa 1900 **

This is a great example of English porcelain craftsmanship and artistry in a pair of beautiful, ornate, globular vases from the Lock & Co. Shrub Hill Works in Worcester, England. The company was later bought by Worcester Royal Porcelain. The original mark, clearly visible on both vases dates them to between 1902 and 1914. Hand painted by well-known artists, these vases capture real landscapes in England and Scotland on the traditional blush ivory background with added blue tones. The whimsical birds on the back of each vase add a touch of added charm to these historical and highly collectable pieces. The double-hole, looped handles are an extra ornate touch, especially with their touch of gilding.
One vase shows the scene of Loch Katrine and the other of Luss Straits on Loch Lomond. Both are clearly legible on base as shown.
Each vase measures 7 inches tall, 5 inches wide and about 3 inches deep. The bases are 3.5 inches long.
