Great antique quilt top. Mid to late 19th century. Some fabrics may be earlier. Log Cabin, sewn together in a zig zag pattern.Logs are neatly hand stitched to backing squares. Each log is just 3/4 inches wide. The squares are about 7.5-8 inches across. Backing squares are hand stitched into rows, and the rows are machine stitched to form the completed top.The overall effect is wonderful! Display as is, or add a backing and quilt it or tie it to finish and you will have a fabulous heirloom. A great variety of fabrics are used on both front and back. A great way to learn about old prints and dyes. The quilt top is unfinished. Some wear and a few small stains that are hard to see. Check my photos. The quilt is 86" by 70" and in a box weighs almost 3-4 lbs.Contact me if you have questions. See photos for more information!
