This beautiful antique Majolica Teapot is rare and hard to find, because it has a pewter lid. The piece is a basket weave floral pattern, with tree branch handle. The original attatched pewter lid has a flower finial. The piece measures approximately 6 1/2" high by 7" width. There is a painted mark under the glaze on the bottom (looks like an anchor). I am not familiar with it though. (Show in photo). Condition is beautiful, with strong color. The only imperfection is a minor flake on the spout rim. (Show in photo). I believe it to date 1880s/1890s. The pot has a very elegant look.
