Antique Milk Glass Victorian Curtain Flower Holdbacks - Pair This auction is for a pair of antique victorian pressed milk glass curtain holdbacks. These vintage white "curtain pins" or tie-backs are shaped like a flower with delicate ornamentation. They are often referred to as the "pressed rosette" or "petal and shell". The opalescent milk glass is translucent around the edges and more opaque white in the center. The colors range from bluish when on black and orange when held up to the light. They would be a great used to tie back heavy curtain drapes or could be modified to serve as a picture hanger, kitchen or bathroom towel holder or other piece of home decor. They would also be an excellent addition to a milk glass collection. One of the holdbacks has slight chipping on the edge barely visible but rough to the touch. The second holdback has a larger chip where two pieces of the scalloped edging are gone (see details in photos). From afar, still looks lovely. The hardware included (one metal rod and two cap nuts) is incomplete and does not properly screw together - the threading may be stripped . However, it gives a good sense of the hardware to purchase if reused as curtain holdbacks or other architectural decoration.
