This is what I (with the opinion of others) believe to be a SALESMANS SAMPLE VAULT ( or cremation urn ) that may also have been made as a BANK.Made of marble showing different colored stone on the sides and ends. Both ends are the same color and both sides are the same color. The top is beveled on all four edges. The handle appears to be brass and is very ornate.T is a slot on one side that coins of up to a U.S. 25 cent piece will fit into.Measures 6 11/16" L x 3 11/16" W x 4 3/8" H,weighs almost 6 1/2 lbs. T are a few minor chips including some along the edge w the side and ends arejoined,as well as some old yellowed glue residue.Maybe someone has been in it at one time and resealed it,or this could be original and t may be something inside.Nothing rattles, but who knows??Paper doesn't rattle!Very doubtful but just a thought!Other wise this is in great antique shape with dark toning to the handle and a little white paint splatter or drips. WIFE SAYS GET IT OUT OF THE HOUSE!!!!! WOULD BE A GREAT CONVERSATION PIECE TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION!!! Selling as is with no reserve!Read description and look at pics carefully, all major defects will be noted and /or shown in pics.E-mail any questions before bidding.S/H paid by buyer, includes delivery confirmation.Insurance is optional at buyers request, but not responsible for loss or damage during
