2 Superb Antique Sterling Silver Royal Navy Table Name Card or Menu Holders from Plymouth dated 1916 Each Antique Dining Table Place Name Card or Menu Holder measure approximately 1 1/2 inches or 38 mm across the diameter or width of its base by just over 1 inch or 27 mm across the widest part of the Royal Navel emblem on the top and it stands 1 1/8 inches or 29 tall to the top of the crown. The place name or menu holders are both completely made from sterling silver with a wonderful pierced and raised relief decorated Royal Navel emblem on the top of a circular base, on the back of each navel emblem there is a circular clip that is designed to hold a menu or place name card and they have Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below, the place name or menu holders have a combined silver weight of 48.5 grams and the underside of each holder has been impressed with the original retailers mark of Page, Plymouth, each one also has a full set of matching English sterling silver hallmarks that read as follows, G & C H - Anchor - Lion Passant - r G & C H is the Birmingham silversmith or makers mark of George & Charles Hodgetts, the Anchor is the mark of the Birmingham assay office, the Lion Passant is the mark of English solid sterling silver and the letter r is the date letter for 1
