Antique 'THE CAROLINA' Silver Teapot Train? Ship? Hotel

Antique 'THE CAROLINA' Silverplate? Teapot from a Train ? Ship? Hotel? Measures 7 and 1/2 inches long from tip of spout to end of handle and 4 and 1/2 inches tall to top of the lid. My best guess is that this is silverplate. This great little item looks like Aladdin's Lamp! One might almost expect a geni to appear when rubbing the side! T is an emblem on the side of this teapot with with the words above it 'THE CAROLINA' in a banner. My guess is it might have come from a ship, hotel or perhaps a train. This belonged to a very old lady who had sisters that liked to travel. She was almost 100 when she died about 17 years ago. I am guessing it may date to the early 1900's. T are some dings and marks commensurate with age and usage of this piece. The bottom has the marks G M CO and then an anchor in a shield and under that, E P which I believe suggest the manufacturer to be Gorham. T are the numbers 03553 and 8 OZ and also a little mark that I can not make out along with the number 1. I have included photos of the marks. Truly a unique, heavy, well-made piece for your collection!
