ANTIQUE VICTORIAN RARE 18K GOLD OPAL 2 CT MAN'S or WOMAN RING FITS SIZE 9 & 8.5

Features: This is a very nice antique (earlier Victorian era 1850's up to 1870's ) ring. Originally for man but would also be very idea for woman. Made of solid 18K gold with oval dome cabachon cut 100% pure natural opal stone. Stone is of very excellent fine quality of color bluish purple with fabulous color play of fire and green. Shows exceptionally bright crisp color under indirect sunligh or the grading lamp and even brighter in subdued light. Stone is approx 2 cts, measuring: 9.9 mm by 7.8 mm with depth of approx 4.5 mm . Not counting ring's high 18K gold value, just it's stone alone would wholesale for approx USD $400 as a jeweler would retail it for much more, of course . Ring has very impressive mid 1800's smith workmanship . Stone is well secures in raised 8 claw prong setting. Face of ring (setting portion), measures: 10 mm by 8 mm. From where ring rest on finger top to top of stone: 7 mm. Shank widths: 3.1 mm and 3 mm in back. For an 18K gold precious ring, it's relevantly heavy. Weighs: 5.2 grams . It came from our family heirloom's earlier Victorian era jewelry collection. It was very well kept and in very excellent condition, (especially for ring this old).
