Antique Victorian Carved Oak Sewing Bench-Stool-Box

You will love my Victorian Carved Oak Sewing Bench Stool. We purchased this from an estate awhile ago and have treasured it. About 19" long, 11" wide, and 17" tall. I recovered the padded top with rose pink velvet upholstery fabric when I first got it.

The top opens to reveal a space inside for magazines or needlework. It makes an outstanding accent piece anyw in the home.

This may be a rare item because in all my research I have not found one exactly like it and certainly none that are this elaborately carved. We think it is early 1900's, possible late 1800's.

It is in good condition, structurally sound, with only normal dings or imperfections. One of the carved petals was reglued many years ago. It has both nails and glued construction.

It does not appear to have ever been refinished. I have not done anything more than wipe it down with a duster.

The lid appears to be of pine with the base of oak. The lid looks to be the same age as the base. The lid was perhaps made of pine because it was meant to be padded. Please do your own research and bid accordingly.

e will pack this well. Shipping and insurance on this item will be $45 to the lower 48 states by either UPS, DHL, or Fed Ex.
