Not really sure of the age of this piece, I think closer to antique than vintage. It belonged to my mother in law and has been stored in our loft garage. She did have it on top of the Seth Thomas clock I have listed. I did a little research on it, Spelter pot metal sculpture of a warrior's horse, used to sit on top mantel clocks. The sculpture is hollow and has a hollow base, There is a cover panel on the bottom of the base, I thought it may be a secret hiding place. The base was covered with a green felt which has long deteriorated and it no good. Sculpture stands 7 1/2 inches overall from ear tip to bottom. Just as in other clock horse sculptures I also noted a hole in the right ear area and under the tail, purpose unknown. This piece is black but has copper tone showing though, not sure how to clean it or polish it up.
