ANTIQUE W&H WESTMINSTER BRACKET CLOCK w BRONZE FRETS

This is one of the most beautiful antique clocks I have seen recently. An impressive victorian 3 key bracket clock with Westminster chimes made by Winterhalder & Hoffmeier for J.E. Calwell in the mid to late 1800's. Winterhalder & Hoffmeier is one of the more reknowned German clockmakers of that period. This clock is fresh from a local estate and will need some minor work and restoration...but I don't believe it needs anything I would call major. It measures 16 1/2" high x 11 3/4" wide x 8 1/2" in depth. It has beautiful brass or bronze fretwork all over in addition to a pair of statuettes on each upper corner. The five finials are acorn shaped in keeping with German tradition. All of the metalwork on this clock is either brass or bronze (no pot metal This is a very heavy and substantial clock for it's size, weighing in at almost 19 lbs. unpacked. As for condition, the front and the back doors both need their hinges reattached and the movement needs a cleaning and adjusting. It will run a little but stops as well. the 5 gong chime seems to be working fine but needs minor adjustment as to how the rods hit as would be expected. The finish has minor scratches and nicks along with one split on one side but overall fairly nice and expected for any unrestored antique clock.
