Antique WARWICK CHINA Pansy FLOW BLUE Large Plate c1894

A great antique, extra large flow blue plate, made by Warwick China, of Wheeling, WV, it bears the mark used from 1893 to 1898 . It measures 10 3/8" across, which is larger than most dinner plates, so would probably be considered a charger or platter. The slightly scalloped rim is highly molded in relief, and is decorated with sponged gold. We believe this pattern to be "Pansy", but if you are seeking a match to your set, please be sure to compare before bidding. I can imagine this on a farmer's breakfast table serving slices of ham, way back in the days when the horses were considered heavy equipment.

SIZE: 10 3/8" across.

Mark: "Warwick China" mark.

CONDITION: We could find no cracks and no chips. The rim may have been gold at one time, but it is mostly white now. T are surface scratches, please see our photo w the light reflects off the surface. This wasn't a cabinet sitter, it's been used.
