Antique WW1 Political Cartoon Print QUIT YOUR FIGHTING AND LET'S ALL BE FRIENDS

This is an antique World War I political cartoon/propaganda print titled QUIT YOUR FIGHTING AND LET'S ALL BE FRIENDS. It is in its original frame.

The overall frame measures 21 3/8 inches wide by 9 1/4 inches high (54.3 cm x 23.5 cm). The print itself measures 20 inches wide by 8 inches high (51 cm x 20.3 cm).

The print is marked in the bottom left corner MORRIS & BENDIEN N. Y. UNIVERSAL COPYRIGHT. It is signed in the bottom right corner C. Weiretree, though this is just a print.

From what I have read, it dates from 1915. World War I occurred during 1914 and 1918.

The piece depicts each country involved in World War I as a baby. A statement in itself! The United States is at the center of it dressed as Uncle Sam. He is acting as a peacemaker trying to break up the fight.

The print has some scattered light marks on it, probably caused by foxing. The frame has some nicking and chipping on it, and some embedded darkness to it that I just couldn't get off when trying to wipe it down.

Overall, it's a great looking piece!

It weighs 1 lb. 10 oz. (734 g).
