What I have for auction is an authentic vintage letter on U.S. Treasury Department stationary, dated Washington April 7, 1870, and signed by the United States Treasurer Gen. Francis E. Spinner. Gen. Francis E. Spinner was appointed Treasurer of the United States by Salmon P. Chase, Secretary of the Treasury under Abraham Lincoln. This is a form letter transferring $15,000.00 for credit with Assistant Treasurer at New York, at the Mohawk Valley National Bank of Mohawk, and signed by Gen. Francis E. Spinner. The letter is on a single sheet of paper and measures, 10"H x 8"W, and has been folded into thirds. The letter is in excellent condition, complete and whole and very clean. PayPal is acceptable as a payment option.
