This week I will be listing a very unusual collection of paperwork and art used by the cast iron toy companies Arcade and Hubley as well as starting a collection of ORIGINAL photos from the Century of Progress World's fair that were taken by Chrysler and owned by the Vice President who worked the fair.....along with a nice grouping of cast iron antique toys. This listing is for an original cast iron antique toy car made by ARCADE in Freeport, IL. This car was made and sold during the 1933 Century of Progress World's Fair in Chicago. The owner of this car prior to me was the estate of Russell H. Dragsdorf who was the Vice President of Chrysler and ran the Chrysler exhibit. I will be including one of his original Century of progress business cards with this auction. This is the larger Desoto measuring 6 inches in length. This is the only example of this car that I have seen in nearly 30 years with the Century of Progress decal on the rear. The grille is cast iron an nickel plated. The front wheels are in good condition, but the rear axle and wheels are gone. There are no breaks, cracks, repairs or repaint. Buyer to pay within 5 days of auction end via Paypal or other form. I will gladly combine shipping as I pack your item well. I ship within 1 day of payment, so please be prompt.
