ARGYLL AND SUTHERLAND HIGHLANDERS CAPTAIN VINTAGE RANK SLIDES

A new condition pair of rank slides to a Captain of The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, a famous Scottish regiment of the British Army until 2006. This rank style and designation 'A & SH' was worn in the unique slate grey shirt sleeve order worn by Warrant Officers, Officers and Pipers of this regiment, it was replaced a few years before amalgamation into the Royal Regiment of Scotland by the designation 'A and SH' below the rank devices.

The rank slides are in slate grey colour with black embroidered ranks stars / pips and unit designation.

This is the same designation of rank insignia as worn by Lt Col Colin Mitchell (Mad Mitch by the press) during operations with the Argylls in Aden in the late 1960's.

The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders was an infantry regiment of the British Army , part of the Scottish Division . In 2004, as part of the restructuring of the infantry , it was announced that the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders would be amalgamated with the other Scottish infantry regiments into the single Royal Regiment of Scotland , it is now known as The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (5 SCOTS) .
