US Army USMC Marine Vietnam "STRAPLESS" M-65 M1965 Field COMBAT JACKET '66 EARLY

US troops shivered in the cold, wet monsoon season in Vietnam's Central Highlands. Stocks of the new M-65 field jacket began to arrive in country by 1968, and quickly became an instant favorite of the troops. It could accept a warm, button-in liner, and carried an integral "stow away" hood in its zippered collar. The earliest M-65s had dropped the shoulder straps of previous field jacket designs; feedback from the field quickly led to epaulettes being added back in. These "strapless" M-65 field jackets were only made in 1966, and are among the rarest of Vietnam M-65 field jackets. This US Army USMC Marine Vietnam Early "STRAPLESS" M-65 M-1965 Field COMBAT JACKET is in good to very good condition, with a light overall fade, but absolutely no rips, holes, tears, or damage of any kind to the tough OD cotton construction. It features a fully functional white metal front zipper, and is complete with all of the original, fully intact and functional pocket snaps. It's marked "DSA-100 on the original nomenclature tag, dating production to 1966. The tag is hanging on by just a few threads, but does remain intact.
