Up for for consideration is this beautiful 5" tapestry rose vase with a beautiful lady carrying above her head "wheat" and just in front of her is a small naked child or cherub carrying wheat also.The tapestry roses are above the lady and it also has gold gilding . The mark is a green crown I can only make out Pompo and below that Dour. Just a beautiful vase. I have one more up for auction also. I wrote www. after not finding the crown mark and they wrote back these details : "The word "Pompadour" refers to the type of Rose prominent in the decoration of this vase and its color has been used extensively first at Sevres, France, and then imitated by several other Porcelain Manufacturers, most notably Rosenthal. The actual mark on your piece, the green crown, was used by several Decorating Workshops throughout Bohemia (Bavaria, Czech Republic, Austria etc). Although your particular Crown mark is almost identical to that used by the ARZBERG PORCELAIN FACTORY (Bavaria, Germany), we cannot be absolutely certain that they were indeed the makers of this beautiful Vase. Arzberg used this symbol after 1927 and, if this Vase was indeed made by them, it would date ca 1930s. However, it was certainly made in the general Bohemia region, most likely in Bavaria, Germany, or Vienna, Austria. The number near the mark is probably a Mold or internal
