Item Description

Offered at a NO RESERVE is a GENUINE late 1800's vintage telescope or spyglass that was used by the U.S. Navy in World War I. This high quality telescope is of all brass construction with a wrapped cloth covering on the main barrel. The single brass draw tube pulls out to reveal the hand-engraved Navy serial number [N]6243. T are 3 original scribe marks showing the focusing range. This telescope has good optics and provides a surprizingly clear, magnified image. T are a couple of minor specks in the field of view which might be dust on the lenses. It measures 11 1/2 inches closed and 17 inches fully extended. It is in good overall condition, definitely shows actual use, but no abuse. The main lens is in nice condition with no chips or cracks.
