Samuel B. Musselman Jr. was born in Lower Milford Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1802. A Mennonite, he was a prolific weaver and there are 152 figured and fancy coverlets accredited to him. The coverlet offered is one of the 79 he wove in Milford, Bucks county, PA before moving to Hilltown, Bucks County, PA. Musselman was one of the few weavers who numbered his coverlets. Seamless (full loom width), this coverlet measures 95" x 79" plus 2" fringe. Warp: natural, blue, red, and green cotton. Weft: natural, blue, red, and green wool. Pattern: rose blocks, Pennsylvania repeated front and backwards in boarder. This coverlet has been in my family since 1847 and has been lovingly cared for. Excellent condition.
