This is one of a series of LPs and EPs -- some sealed, some quite rare -- that I will be listing over the next several weeks and months.

This is an original mono pressing of the Meet the Beatles LP, released on the rainbow swirl label by Capitol Records. This album is, of course, the first Capitol Records’ Beatles LP released in the US , which is in turn a truncated version of the Beatles second UK release, With The Beatles. The usual release one will often see is the US stereo version, rechanneled for the American market (with all of the instruments in one channel, and the vocals in the other, primarily). This album presents the material in all its monophonic and hi-fidelity glory. As you can see from the photo – which shows the actual album for auction -- the cover is in terrific condition, which if not for the stain in the upper right-hand corner of the back cover, would be in excellent to near-mint condition. The vinyl does have some obvious wear and probably grades to VG/VG+ -- still pretty good for a 45 year-old LP. By the way, the back has a “2” subscript in the lower right-hand corner, which indicates that this particular copy is from 1964. A very nice collectible for any serious Beatle collector.

As noted above, the vinyl is in VG/VG+ condition. The cover is in VG+ condition, as shown in the photo.
