BEN STAHL – September7, 1910 - October 19, 1987

One of the most significant Artists of the 20 th Century, Benjamin Albert Stahl was an American Artist, Illustrator and Author of world renown. After winning a scholarship to the Art Institute of Chicago at age 12, he later taught at the Art Institute as well as The American Academy of Art, The Art Students League of New York, Brooklyns Pratt Institute and at Universities and Art Schools worldwide.

His work appeared in Women’s Home Companion, Cosmopolitan, American Artist, North Light, Esquire and Southwest Art magazines and some 750 Paintings and Illustrations published in the Saturday Evening Post. Along with his fellow Artist and admirer, Norman Rockwell, Stahl was a Co-Founder and faculty member of The Famous Artists School in Westport, Connecticut.

Ben Stahl was also a talented author and wrote two (2) novels, “Blackbeard’s Ghost” and “The Secret of Red Skull”, the first of which was produced by The Walt Disney Company into a major motion picture in 1969.
