Samuel Collection No reserve fine art auctions Overview : This is an original vintage mid century "Hand of Peace" bronze metal sculpture with enamel by listed California artist, Beniamino Benevenuto Bufano (1898-1970) . Artist has lots of auction records, his works sell for thousands! Signed and numbered "83" on the bottom as shown. Dates mid century. Nice weight! Bids start at 12 dollars! Condition :Sculpture is in good condition with mild wear, very mild dings, and very mild surface scratches. Overall looks great! Wood base is in good condition with mild wear. Measurements : Sculpture measures (w/base) 15.5 inches tall x 5 x 5 inches. Artist Bio: Beniamino Bufano was widely recognized for his skilled craftsmanship and unique designs in sculpture. He worked on a grand scale, creating pieces that had mass and stature always with smooth edges and slick surfaces. Bufano was born in San-Fele, Italy in 1898, but moved to New York City with his family when he was still very young. Although he was educated by private tutors in his childhood, Bufano went on to study art at the Art Students League in New York in 1913. There he studied under Paul Manship, Herbert Adams and James L. Fraser. In 1915, he relocated to San Francisco, California and from there he traveled to Europe, China and India returning in 1921.
