Biography Born 1939. Betty Connal was a British printmaker and painter. She was also known as Betty Peebles, or Betty Connal-Peebles. She was best known for her abstract styling. She studied with Stanley Hayter (avant-garde surrealist, printmaker and writer on automatism whose move from occupied France to New York influenced Pollock and the American Expressionists) at Atelier 17 in Paris where she lived for many years. Her work can be found in the government and many private art collections. She died in 1939
