This is actually a # 1 gauge, not standard gauge piece. It will not run on standard gauge track. It says "GBN dep" on both ends. The car is all original. The gray roof has some black spotting on it, I don't know what that is from because it's not paint splatter. It appears to be discoloration in the gray roof. It also has some surface corrosion on the sides down low along the top of the frame. This is all visible in the photographs. The sides are lithographed "New York, New Haven & Harford # 32001". The trucks are in excellent condition with no rust and they roll nice and free, no bent axles. Car is equipped with hook couplers which are both in good shape. Both doors open and close easily. # 1 gauge is kind of hard to come by these days. Even though it would look good setting on modern G gauge layout, you cannot do it because the axles are not insulated on this car and they would short circuit the layout.
