Birmingham Silver Co. Spirit Kettle

Presenting a lovely vintage Spirit Kettle made by Birmingham Silver Co, marked BS & Co. The set has a Victorian flair with grape kettle top finial. The aforementioned company began business in 1932 in Brooklyn NY and then moved to Yalesville Ct. in 1957. As with many smaller silver manufacturers, they merged with International Silver in the 1960's. The age of this kettle would be prior to the merge in the '60's.

This auction is for a fine quality silver-plated spirit kettle marked "Silver on Copper" along with a crown symbol and BS & Co. (I will add a picture of this on Monday.) Weight of the kettle and stand is just over 5 pounds so good quality silver-plate over copper.

Measurements: The kettle on the stand measures just shy of 16" tall. Off the stand, the kettle is 11" tall x 9.5" from spout to handle side. Holds 7 cups of water and pours well with this amount (not full to top).

Condition: Very good. T is a small amount of tarnish that needs to be polished. T may be a few tiny scratches but I don't see any of note. The whole works looks almost new. The burner still has an unused looking wick. Some light staining in the inside of the pot. Very elegant and chic.

Please see my other auctions for matching pieces to the kettle.
