1 33 grams ( 4.70 oz) Approximate dimensions: 2 1/4" Diameter X 3 /4 " Height (without base ). The oxidation process for this specimen was intentionally interrupted to produce a silver surface. Includes small acrylic base. Bismuth is element #83 on the Periodic Table of Elements. It is known as a post-transition metal. It has a relatively low melting-point of about 520 degrees F, which makes it easy to work with. Bismuth crystals form when the metal begins to cool from a molten state. The iridescent colors that bismuth crystals are usually known for are the result of an oxide tarnish.I create every crystal I list. I do not import or buy them from others. Beware of those that claim "Lab grown in Germany." Bismuth is an element, it makes no difference where the crystals are created. I do not use stock photographs. The photos posted here are of the actual item(s) listed in the description. Also, these photos were taken outside in natural light (but not in direct sunlight) . Color intensity may differ in different lighting conditions.
