Blanche Rothschild (1893-1988) Woman With Head Scarf

This is portrait of a seated woman wearing a traditional head scarf by the artist Blanche Rothschild (1893-1988). There is not much information about Rothschild but one of her paintings entitled The Wedding Dress is in the permanent collection of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Rothschild has an unusual technique of creating paintings with the use of small patches of various colors to create depth and dimensionality. A broad range of colors including shades of blue and red are used to depict the flesh tone. The scarf includes many bright colors. The painting is in excellent condition with no condition issues.
