An example of BLOUNT'S PATENT OILER HANDLE HAND SAW as patented by William T. Blount of Orrville, Ohio on October 21, 1924. A spring-activated lever on the inside of the handle opening allows oil to be released to the saw blade as necessery. Much of the original etching remains on the blade, but it is not clearly legible. The handle is marked in two places with the patent information as well as a trademark imprint of a woman marked Southern Beauty in an arch around the top. The datamp web site indicates that the maker of this saw is not known, but research on the Southern Beauty trademark may yield some information. A rare special purpose saw in excellent collector quality condition. Length = 29.50 Inches (Ref. Id No.: 317320) [S-4910]
