This was one of the greatest stretches EVER! He AVERAGED nearly 20 wins per year over a 10 year span! Amazing.

Joe Sewell was born in 1898 and died in 1990.

Sewell was elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977.

He was an absolute hitting machine! It is argued that he was the greatest contact hitter of all time.

He was a career .312 hitter. He hit over .300 on 10 different occasions. He had at least 30 doubles on 8 different occasions. He wasn't a power hitter as evidenced by the fact that he never once hit 10 homers in a single season, but amazingly enough he still managed to be a superior run producer and knocked in at least 70 runs 9 times in his career, and even topped the 100 RBI plateau twice.

's the amazing stat: Career Strikeouts: 114!!!!!!!!! No, that's not a misprint. He only struck out an amazing 114 times for his entire career.
