This is a wonderful Mexican Bowie knife. 14" overall with a 10" forged blade that has the peculiar 'thin line' fuller on both sides. All 10" is cutting surface! It is in tarnished but in near unused condition. It has survived with an incredible pig skin and leather sheath with braid work and tooling. Single stitched the narrow portion of the sheath is the reverse loop for a 1 3/4" belt or even wider if you lift the flap. The makers stamp is 'Antonio Olmos' in a 'brand' style stamp. just under the 'A' in his name is '1+'. The mark 'JALPA ZAC' stands for the city in the Mexican state of "Zacatecas'. The blade is full tang with four iron pins holding down horn handles tapered to a peak. What looks like damage was done by 'bugs'. Roaches will eat through a leather sheath if given time, ;-). I now notice a tiny blade nick, easily taken out. Under magnification you can see file marks all along the false edge. This knife most likely dates much earlier; its pretty. 5 day auction, bidding starts at $100. USA postage/insured $10. Check, MO or paypal please. Thanks and good luck.
