About the artwork:

This piece was created as part of Artspace's Spring Fundraiser - Artspace Mystery Create. Artists were challenged with creating a work of art made only from the materials found in their Mystery Build Art Kit. Artists had two months to complete the work.

All proceeds benefit the Artspace Youth Scholarship Fund.

The Artspace Scholarship Fund exists to provide at-risk and underserved youth the opportunity to attend our Summer Arts Program.

The Summer Arts Program offers over 65 different classes that focus on various techniques and media. Classes run from June 17 – August 16 and are taught by local art professionals. These classes are designed to engage children in the process of art while building confidence and giving them an outlet for self-expression.

Artspace currently provides 50 scholarships to our Summer Arts Program, which serves over 600 children throughout the course of our eight-week summer program. These children study a variety of media, from oil to clay and acrylic to fiber, all while our Summer Artist in Residence works in Gallery One in an open studio format fully accessible to our students and visitors.
